One of the things I’ve loved about starting a blog is how the love that goes around comes around.
I’m going to start with the Liebster Award and I’m going to cheat a little bit because I’ve received this award and passed it on here. There’s also an explanation of the award on in that post if you’d like to have a look.
So if no-one minds I’m just going to play along and answer the questions for now.
My answers to the questions from Polish Alcoholic…
What’s your dream job?
I actually pretty much have it. Not something I like to talk about on teh internetz, but I work in music publishing. It’s administration rather than the glamorous side, but it means I get to be geeky as well as working with data that I’m actually passionate about.
What’s your Facebook, Bloglovin, Pinterest and Twitter?
I don’t use Facebook, although I’ve never deleted it, just in case I need to spy on anyone…! So if you find my profile floating around out there don’t bother adding me because I won’t see your request. Bloglovin, Pinterest and Twitter are all unsurprisingly @feeraa
If you could make a wish, what would that be and why?
If I really did have a wish, I think I would have to spend a lot more time thinking about it, but off the top of my head I guess it would just be for everyone that I know and care about to be happy.
What is the one thing that you cannot leave behind when you’re going away?
I’ve done a lot of travelling over the last year or so and what comes with me is very much dependent on how long I’m going for and whether I have to get everything into hand luggage for a plane journey. However, absolute musts are my ipad, handcream, fold up slippers and if I’m away for a week or more I always take my favourite teddy bear that I’ve had since I was born – really makes me feel like an imposter when I’m on a business trip and everyone else is wearing a suit and reading the Economist! I also have a really comfy pair of grey leopard print trousers that I always wear for flying.
What is your biggest fear?
I am terrified of failing. This applies to most things, but mainly about work, the thought that I won’t be amazingly successful spurs me on to overcome whatever obstacles might be in my way.
Now onto the Sunshine Award, the rules are as follows…
The Sunshine Award is an award given by bloggers to other bloggers. The recipients of the Sunshine Award are: “Bloggers who positively and creatively inspire others in the blogosphere.” The way the award works is this: Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them. Answer questions about yourself. Select 10 of your favorite bloggers, link their blogs to your post and let them know they have been awarded the Sunshine Award!
So without further ado, here are the questions:
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
That changes all the time, I’d like to think that I’ll have progressed further in my field and that I’ll be on my way to earning the big bucks! The dream (as is so many people’s dream) is to move to New York, a few months ago that was realistic, but things have changed a bit at work so let’s put that I might get there within 5 years.
Who was your favorite celebrity as a child?
The first posters I had on my wall were of Take That (the first time round) but when I was properly a child I guess it would be whoever was presenting the broomcupboard at the time. I realise no-one who is not British and not the same age as me will know what that means, but it was Phillip Schofield, Andy Crane and Andi Peters at the height of their powers.
What is your favorite food?
The wallpaper on my work PC is a photo of a blackboard with the word “Meat” inside a heart. I’m the opposite of a vegetarian. I have a particular fondness for scotch eggs. Yum!
If you were invisible where would you go?
I am desperate to go on a holiday where I sit down and do nothing, so if I was invisible I guess I could get on a plane and go somewhere that I can’t afford.
What is the kindest thing anyone has done for you?
I’m struggling to think of anything specific, so I’m going to say everything my Grandma ever did, she was my favourite person, I miss her a lot.
If you were on a island, who would you want to be with? Why?
My best friend from work. He would make me laugh. We also bring out the best in each other, so we would have the confidence to deal with whatever was occurring on the island.
What was you favorite sitcom growing up?
I was a teenager, so I guess this counts as growing up, but does anyone remember The High Life? It was about a Scottish airline and it had Alan Cumming in it before he got all famous. Really funny.
How many bottles of nail polish do you have? How many is too many?
I don’t know the exact figure, but I’m definitely 100+ and to be honest I think it might be too many. But there are still lots of shades I don’t have and things that I feel like I need. Maybe it’s time I had a clearout to make room for new things…
What Celebrity crush have you had?
This changes every time I turn on the TV. I’m currently in the middle of Season 5 of Mad Men, so John Hamm’s in my head, but recently I can think of the geeky one off Great British Bakeoff, Stewart Lee, Ben Wishaw, actually I’m stopping it there because this list could definitely get out of hand.
Where do you live and why do you like it there?
I live in Wandsworth, South West London and I never said I liked it(!) but I guess it’s ok. It’s relatively cheap for London and surprising well connected given that there’s no tube station. There are a LOT of pubs, a bingo hall and a shopping mall which has a TK Maxx for nail bargains.
I just managed to accidentally publish this without adding my nominated bloggers, some of these ladies might be surprised because they don’t actually know me, but I have really loved reading their blogs. I’ve tried to pick people who didn’t already have this award, but please be flattered if I’ve duplicated a nomination. And of course there is no obligation to pass this on, so here goes…
